Best for Baby Too Brown Bag meeting 21st February 2024

“If we can give more families and more children a better start in life, then the knock-on effect to when they’re an adult will be more positive”

Best for Baby Too Brown Bag meeting 21st February 2024

“If we can give more families and more children a better start in life, then the knock-on effect to when they’re an adult will be more positive”

21 Jan 2024 12:00pm - 21 Feb 2024 13:30pm

The Best for Baby Too Improvement Collaborative meets bi-monthly for a so-called Brown Bag meeting (yes, we pilfered the term from the Americans): the members of the Collaborative meet at lunchtime to discuss a topic with a manageable focus that is important to them at lunchtime and we provide the participants with a space, a sandwich lunch and hot drinks.

The Brown Bag meetings are a platform for people from across the perinatal pathway – midwives, health visitors, parents, GPs, social prescribers etc. – to get together, to focus on what they might be able to do as a system to improve social and development outcomes for children by addressing social risk factors such as housing and by building up protective measures. In particular, these meetings  keep learning from each other.

The group is always keen to include a variety of voices and perspectives. On 21st February, Michael Galbraith and Ruth O’Shaugnessy will introduce the PIER model to the Best for Baby community, with a focus on generating conversations around a 0-5 EYSMH partnership model for Liverpool Place. Trusting relationships, which are central to PIER, will also be central to the discussion on the day.

Put the 21st February 2024 in your diaries, we’ll let you know here when you can register for the event.
