Manchester Metropolitan University commissioned us to support their four Undergraduate Open days in 2025. The challenge at previous Open days: prospective students had a lot to do – attending lectures, go on campus tours and visit their future accommodation – in an unfamiliar location and within a short time window. They needed help with registration, way-finding and fitting in the occasional break to find where to grab a coffee or something to eat.

And that’s where we came in. With partner organisation Focal Studios and a range of brilliant contractors, we were striving to make the Open Days a cohesive, engaging and most of all stress-free experience.

For this project, we didn’t “just” plan, project-manage and deliver services, but we co-created products such as way-finding signage; an interactive campus map that was shown on digital totems with touch screen at key points on campus; outdoor check-in stations and, last but not least for a bit of fun, mirrored selfie stands.

After the first Open day in June, we’d been working tirelessly on improving the products from one Open day to the next and delivered the final successful Open day in November. What a great project, thanks Manchester Met University for having us on board.
