Manchester Metropolitan University commissioned us to support their four Undergraduate Open Days in 2025. The challenge at previous Open days: prospective students had a lot to do – attending lectures, go on campus tours and visit their future accommodation – in an unfamiliar location and within a short time window. They needed all the help they could get with registration, way-finding and fitting in the occasional break to find where to grab a coffee or something to eat.

And that’s where we came in. With partner organisation Focal Studios and a range of brilliant contractors, we have been working on making the Open Days a cohesive, engaging and most of all stress-free experience.

The first Open day with our enhancements took place on a sunny Wednesday in June 18th June and it was a success. The university campus itself was made visible and attractive with branded bunting. The temporary Open day signage we designed and installed helped to ease and simplify way-finding; the new interactive campus map we created was available on digital totems with touch screen at key points on campus, providing info on timings, lectures, food and drink outlets and so on. And we added some fun with mirrored selfie stands.

We have more up our sleeves, roll on the next Open day in October.
