After a break in 2020 due to Covid-19, the annual Katumba Halloween spectacular returned to Liverpool in 2021 with a BANG that topped all our previous Halloween festivities. With free performances taking place simultaneously at Bombed Out Church and in Church Alley on 31st October, we made sure everyone got to experience the Katumba Halloween Carnival 2021.
Bombed Out Church hosted the carnival-themed Halloween showcase, which at the same time launched the BLaST (Black and Brown Social Traders) network. Despite the atrocious weather . the venue was full to capacity and a queue sneaked all around the church ground’s perimeter. Thankfully we could re-route the people who were waiting to the performances on Church Alley.
To top off proceedings in true Katumba-style, all performers united for two mini-parades leading to the Halloween Carnival Finale at Liverpool 1. It was literally insane Can’t wait to don our high-viz vests again, roll on Halloween!
Having prepared the documents including the risk assessments for the Joint Agencies, we planned the logistics for and managed the team at at Bombed Out Church. Then we rolled downhill to lead the first mini-parade to Liverpool 1, where we stage-managed the EPIC finale. Wanna bet our high-viz vests aren’t dry yet …
