With Katumba’s beautiful artistic brief, drawing on the traditions of Samhaim (Halloween’s origins) and Dia de los Muertos/Finados, when a portal open between dimensions, the parade brought to life two possible worlds: the lush and depleted earths. About 200 participants, 5 of which performing with live fire, lots of dancers, 80 drummers, 20 cyclists and a disco trike with live band as well as a fire-breathing bat, wound into the heart of the city from Bold Street to the location of the parade finale at Paradise Place.

We were involved in the planning of the parade and led the conversations with the Joint Agencies in regards to our route and keeping the parade as well as the audience safe. This included writing the risk assessments and method statements. We recruited our safety team from our own pool of experienced managers and stewards and were in charge of the parade management and safety management.

Our friends and parade organisers Katumba agree that this really was our best parade to date!
